PTAP1210 : Patient Care Skills

This course introduces foundational patient care skills used by the physical therapist assistant, including safe patient handling, transfers, positioning, and the use of assistive devices. Students explore vital signs, infection control, integumentary considerations, wound care basics, and factors influencing patient mobility and safety. Emphasis is placed on developing professional communication, clinical reasoning, and patient-centered care skills to support safe and effective implementation of the physical therapy plan of care.
